Outstanding Achievement Award

This year we recognized Dr. Kathleen Bodie and Robert Spiegel with our 2026 Outstanding Achievement Award.

 

Dr. Kathleen Bodie served as superintendent of the Arlington Public Schools from 2008 until her retirement in 2021. Among her many achievements on behalf of Arlington's children and families, Dr. Bodie recognized the value of increasing the diversity of APS staff to better reflect the student population and expanding standards of inclusion overall. â€‹

​

Robert Spiegel has been the Director of Human Resources for the Arlington Public Schools since 2011. Prior to that he was a practicing attorney, counseling private and public sector employees in all aspects of labor and employment law. Mr. Spiegel is widely respected for his professional and personal commitment to equal opportunity, his deep respect for diverse cultures, and his belief in recognizing excellence in every individual.
